Society and Culture: Exhibition "David Burliuk: farewell tour of a futurist" in Omsk

The M. A. Vrubel Omsk Regional Museum of Fine Arts under the grant of the Russian Cultural Foundation "Genius Loci. New local history" implements a large-scale project "David Burliuk: large Siberian tour and farewell workshop of a futurist", highlighting the little-known artistic life of Russian Civil War. Then, on the way to America, painter, poet, theorist and promoter of avant-garde art David Burliuk arranged in the cities of the Urals and Siberia literary events and exhibitions that had great public interest. His route defined "road of life" for many thousands of refugees - Trans-Siberian railway, the 125th anniversary of the bookmark and the 100th anniversary of the completion of which is marked in 2016.

At the heart of the exhibition - paintings and drawings from the collections of museums in the Urals and Siberia. Stored mainly in the vaults many of the works are for the first time presented to the viewer. Enriched with various study materials - periodicals, photographs, archival documents - the exposition opens a little-known page of the artistic life of the XX century Russia, let us remember the forgotten for many years experience in organizing large-scale artistic events and restore the cultural history of Siberia the name of David Burliuk - a bright figure of Russian and international avant-garde.
