Information technology and authority: The Ministry of Communications is launching a pilot project on the use of government agencies of the domestic office software

The Ministry of Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation reports that in 2017 a pilot project will take place for the transition of federal executive bodies and state non-budgetary funds for the use of the domestic office software (PO). Participants in the pilot project will be the Ministry of Communications of Russia, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Finance, the Federal Bailiff Service of Russia, the Federal Tax Service, the Social Insurance Fund of Russia and the Russian Pension Fund.

The pilot project for the implementation of the domestic office software in the activities of state bodies will include several stages - from the agreement and approval of the minimum requirements for the hardware on the part of office software to be installed on sites of participants of the necessary software, testing, and training seminars for its use. Completion of the pilot project is planned for mid-2017. The next step will be replicating implemented solutions to other state agencies.

On the transition of authorities on the use of the domestic office software is allotted three years. During this time, it should be identified rules of office software, including using cloud technologies, as well as the approved requirements for software products to be used by the authorities.
