In the museum and exhibition center "Rosfoto" (St. Petersburg) was opened an exhibiton "Photo club "Mirror". After what has been said. The cultural phenomenon of Leningrad amateur photos of 1970-90s". More than 100 images of more than 60 authors are located in the halls of the Front Building.

The exhibition project is dedicated to the study of the national club of amateur photography of the second half of the XX century. Amateur photo clubs with houses and palaces of culture began to appear in 1950 and covered by a dense network all over the Soviet Union in 10-15 years. Skill photographers grew stronger connection between the clubs, formed a space for dialogue, exchange of experiences and ideas.

Continuing the tradition of European photographic societies of late XIX - early XX century, in the late 1960s, the Russian club associations achieved the highest professional level. Among them was the photo club "Mirror", which activities since the late 1970s and early 1990s were largely determined by the state of creative photography in Leningrad. "Mirror" - the best photo club of the USSR in 1987, the owner of 11 gold medals ENEA USSR.

Photos tell about life in general and St. Petersburg, on subjects and paradoxical charm of everyday life - holidays in recreation parks, meetings, working days.

The exhibition is supported by the Russian Ministry of Culture and the Committee on Culture of St. Petersburg. The exhibition is open until 30 January 2017.
