Memorable dates of Russia: Military-Historical Forum dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Battle for Moscow and the 120th anniversary of the birth of Marshal Zhukov

December 7-8, 2016, the Museum of the Great Patriotic War, the Scientific Research Institute (military history) of the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Russian Federation and the Zhukov State Museum of Armed Forces carry out in Moscow the Military-Historical Forum, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Soviet counter-offensive troops against the German fascist troops near Moscow and the 120-th anniversary of Marshal Zhukov.

On the first day of the forum, which will be held at the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War, will take place a plenary session. There will be discussed formed in hindsight assessment of the value of the Battle of Moscow in 1941-1942 in the history of the Great Patriotic War and the Second World Wars, to show the contribution to the victory of the Soviet people, soldiers of the Red Army - from private to general. The forum participants will get acquainted with the exposition of the exhibition "The Battle of Moscow. First Victory", organized with the participation of about 50 museums, archives and other institutions of Moscow and the Moscow region. The continuation of the Forum will be the meeting of its two sections: "Battle of Moscow - the prologue of the Great Victory" and "Marshal of Victory G. K. Zhukov".

The meeting of the second day of the Military-Historical Forum will take place in the homeland of Marshal in the city of Zhukov of the Kaluga region. The forum is planned to show the scale of the military and government activities of Marshal of the Soviet Union G. K. Zhukov, the formation of his leadership talent, contribution to the victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and post-war development of the Soviet Armed Forces.

The conference will be attended by representatives of the federal authorities, the central bodies of military administration, academic, public, veterans' and youth organizations.
