
History and culture: Exhibition "Casual portrait. Art of the XX Century" in Moscow
December 2, 2016 at the VDNH in the pavilion №59 "Grain" (Moscow) was opened an exhibition "Casual portrait. Art of the XX century". The exhibition presents more than 100 works of this genre. Painting, drawing and sculpture - from the collections of Russian museums and private collections in Moscow and St. Petersburg
"Casual portrait" - a story about the search capabilities in the art of the XX century. Selected by the organizers of the exhibition chamber intonation – is an attempt to "highlight" the life of the individual against the background of large events and changes.
The exhibition is opened by the work of artists association "World of Art" and those whose names are in Russia is traditionally associated with the story of Impressionism. This section is illustrated by portraits of Zinaida Serebyakova, Lev Bakst, Konstantin Somov, Mstislav Dobuzhinsky and others.
Through innovative art of 1910 - the beginning of the 1930s (the exposure in this period is represented by the school of Kazimir Malevich, Pavel Filonov, Vladimir Tatlin and others), wash painting the plot value, a story about the picture stops at the artists, not part of the formal approval of the masters. From David Shterenberg and Robert Falk, for which the Soviet critic acknowledged "past achievements" to the members of the association "Circle of Artists" that existed at the periphery not only art, but also the human space.
1960s open two sections in the exhibition: painting "left MOSH" and nonconformist art. Moving from the expansion of the plastic possibilities of the early XX century, the story of a man passes through Conceptual Art to the disclosure of new senses of its surroundings.
