The Moscow Kremlin Museums are launching guided tour "The ancient Kremlin and the holy abode".
The tour route passes through the New Kremlin Square, where they were based centers of religious life of Muscovite Russia in the XIV century - Miracles and Ascension Monastery, and later there was the residence of Russian emperors - Small Nicholas Palace. Destroyed during the Soviet era architectural ensembles are living on old plans of the Kremlin, engravings, watercolors and photographs. Significant contribution to the study of the lost monuments belongs to archaeological research.
During the trip in the garden, stored "deeds of bygone days" while traveling through the square, visitors will get acquainted with the results of archaeological excavations, will see fragments of the destroyed buildings. The story of the guide will complement the virtual video that resurrects the architectural appearance of the Kremlin of bygone centuries.
The tour will provide an opportunity to visit the permanent exhibition "Treasures and antiquities of the Moscow Kremlin" and "Ascension Monastery", as well as the chapel of St. Varus (in warmer months), where the shrine with relics of St. Euphrosyne of Moscow is stored.
