History of St. Petersburg: Presentation of the book "Such a different war…" to the Day of the Liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi blockade of the National Library of Russia

January 25, 2017 in the main building of the National Library of Russia (St. Petersburg) is held a presentation of the book "Such a different war…The Great Patriotic War in the letters, memoirs, documents, stories".

About the war it is written numerous books, monographs, memoirs…but there are still unknown names, the memory of which is kept only for personal family archives. They formed the basis of the book. These are memories, letters, documents and stories of war veterans and their families.

Thousands of personal stories cease to be just family, becoming a common heritage and a true chronicle of the Great Victory.

This is the first edition of the book "Such a different war…", released in 2016 by the publishing house "North Star". It has been prepared jointly with the staff of the Department of Rare Books of the National Library of Russia.

The collection will be included in a series of "Immortal regiment Pages", which was a response to the publishers of the annual campaign "Immortal regiment", uniting millions of people around the world.
