Society and Book Culture: Exhibition of Book Illustration "Hello, Mr. Hoffman!" In Kaliningrad

January 24, 2017 the Kaliningrad Regional History and Art Museum of the birthday of the German Romantic writer, composer, artist and lawyer E.-T.-A. Hoffmann will host the opening of the exhibition of artists Mikhail Gavrichkov and G. A. W. Traugot "Hello, Mr. Hoffman!", which represents the book illustration from the collection of "Vita Nova" publishing house, St. Petersburg.

At the opening of the exhibition will be featured original illustrations for the novels "Everyday views of the Cat Murr" and "Golden pot: the tale of the new era", the fairy story "The Sandman" and "Little Cahes, nicknamed Zinnober".

Publishing house "Vita Nova" was founded in April 2000 in St. Petersburg. It is specializing in the production of low-circulation publications of collection editions of fiction, poetry, biographical and literary books. The creation of such books involves leading Russian and foreign literary critics, art historians, designers and artists. All editions are lavishly illustrated and provided with extensive references.

Mikhail Alexeevich Gavrichkov - painter, graphic artist, illustrator, ex-librist, the creator of inventive assemblages-sculptures. Preference is given to a complex technique of etching.

G. A. W. Traugot - creative community of his father (George Nikolayevich) and sons (Alexander and Valery) Traugot, artists and book illustrators.
