Internet and Society: Registration of participants of the World Youth Festival in Sochi on a special Internet portal is continued

The number of registered participants in the Russian World Festival of Youth and Students, to be held in Sochi from 14 to 22 October this year, has reached 20 thousand people.

January 19, 2017 the President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the formation of the organizing committee of the World Festival of Youth and Students, chairman of the committee appointed the first deputy head of the Presidential Administration of Russia Sergey Kiriyenko, the corresponding document was published on the official web portal of legal information.

"The website russia2017.com already registered more than 20 000 Russian applicants. Note, that the estimated total number of festival participants - 20,000, of which 10 000 are Russian and 10 000 are foreign young people who successfully pass the competitive selection of stages", - reported the press service of the organizing committee.

Application for participation in the festival can be applied by citizens of Russia and other countries. Registration will be completed in April 2017 and June 1, participants will have full-time and correspondence selection stages. Bidding campaign on volunteer program will last until 28 February. The number of those wishing to become volunteers of the festival (#VolontyoryMira) has exceeded 10 thousand people. It is assumed that they are at the festival they will be about 7000. At the moment, in all regions of Russia it is established regional preparatory committees, which will be engaged in the formation of the delegations of the Russian participants.
