Society and culture: Unique editions from the collection of the Velimir Khlebnikov House-Museum in Astrakhan to be presented within the project “One book”

January 19, 2017 in the Velimir Khlebnikov House-Museum (Astrakhan) will be held the presentation of the new project "One Book". Science specialists of the museum offer a new format for the exhibitions, in which you can see unique, rare, interesting publications of the museum fund. The place of exposure is the Khlebnikov Library Museum, also a methodical cabinet and the center of Astrakhan Khlebnikov studies. Demonstration of book editions will be accompanied by a number of thematic lectures, creative and poetic meetings.    

The first exhibition is devoted to publications from the private collection of David Burliuk, donated to the museum by Mai Miturich-Khlebnikov, Velimir’s nephew. The collection includes rare postcards and unique magazines, in particular, «Color and Rhyme», published in the USA by D. Burliuk. 

Demonstration of the new project of the Khlebnikov House Museum also includes a presentation of the exhibition of one painting Burliuk "Questions to the sea" from the collection by M. V. Sergeeva (Moscow). The work of the famous figure of the Russian avant-garde is being demonstrated in Astrakhan to a wide audience for the first time. 

The project plans a number of interesting exhibitions: "The family library of the Klebnikovs", "Literary map of Astrakhan", "The works of Velimir Khlebnikov, from lifetime-to-date", "On the art, avant-garde, futurism: books, studies, periodicals", and others. "One Book" will create a new museum in an interesting site that allows visitors to combine exhibitions and museum library readers.

At the same time on the virtual site www.domvelimira.ru, in the section "Our Books", will be published the information on the exhibited books. Thus the museum collections, including "Khlebnikov collection", will be open to a wider audience, the information about them will be available not only to Astrakhan and visitors, but also a virtual nonresident readers and Internet users.
