Memory of Russia: The exhibition "Dedicated to the feat of besieged Leningrad" to the 74th anniversary of breaking the siege of Leningrad

18 January 2017

January 18 marks 74 days of breaking the siege of Leningrad. In this regard, in St. Petersburg and the region memorable events are taking place.

From 18 to 29 January 2017 in the Great Hall of the Artists' Union Exhibition Center is held a traditional and at the same time unique exhibition "Dedicated to the feat of besieged Leningrad".

The exhibition presents works of different genres and themes, which are combined with each other with one past time - the siege of Leningrad. The authors of the works - the living witnesses of the war and turning events of history of the Fatherland.

Despite the fact that such exhibitions have long been a tradition in the Union of Artists, as a tribute to colleagues who gave us a peaceful sky, every year the exposition is completely different. There are collectible things that no one has previously exhibited - besieged paintings by famous artists, postcards that were printed in the building during the war. There are new works of artists-blockade with memories.

Of particular attention there is a collection of original besieged postcards in the technique of lithography, which have been created and published by Leningrad artists in the same building of the Union of Artists, where the exhibition is taking place now.
