The Year of Ecology in Russia-2017: The exhibition to the centenary of the reserved system of Russia in Astrakhan

January 11, 2017 in the Museum and Exhibition Complex "Zeughaus" (Astrakhan) will be held the presentation of the photo exhibition of nature of the Astrakhan region "By forbidden paths: preserving the future!"

The exhibition presents 100 years of the reserved system in the country, and exactly 100 photo pictures, which are divided into two sections - the history of the formation of the Astrakhan Nature Reserve and the unique nature of our days.

For the first time the exhibition will feature photographs from the archive of the Astrakhan Nature Reserve of 1920-1930. They show the work of the first observers, protected life of employees, weekdays and holidays of the Soviet era, as well as the national color of the population adjacent to the reserve.

Interestingly, that the date – January 11 - for the opening of the exhibition was not selected by chance. Barguzinsky (Republic of Buryatia) - It was this day in 1917 that was founded the first Russian State Nature Biosphere Reserve. In April 1919 – the first in the USSR – in Astrakhan.

The exhibition is organized by the Astrakhan State Nature Reserve with the support of the Astrakhan Museum. It takes place in the framework of events dedicated to the Year of Ecology in Russia.

The photo exhibition will run till February 10.
