History and culture: Exhibition "Portrait of a Family" from the collection of the State Russian Museum in Petrozavodsk

Exhibition "Portrait of a Family" from the collection of the State Russian Museum is held in the Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Karelia in Petrozavodsk until 26 February 2017.

The museum continues to show the works from the State Russian Museum, which for many years had a close relationship.

The exposition features very well-known and favorite paintings by prominent artists of Vladimir Borovikovsky, Ivan Khrutsky, Fyodor Tolstoy, Konstantin Makovsky, Pavel Filonov, Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin, Boris Kustodiev, Dmitry Zhilinsky and works of decorative art of XIX-XX centuries.

The family theme in the visual arts was relevant at all times in Russia. Family matters and issues are understandable and close to everyone. The viewer is presented an extensive gallery of portraits and genre scenes, telling the events of the private life of the representatives of different layers of Russian society.
