History of Russia: The Novgorod Museum-Reserve opens scientific and educational lecture series "Novgorod and Novgorod land in 1917"

The Novgorod Museum-Reserve opens a new scientific-educational lecture series "Novgorod and Novgorod land in 1917", organized jointly with the Novgorod branch of the Russian Historical Society.

In the centenary year of the Great Russian Revolution historians once again are trying to realize its causes and consequences.

During the year, Novgorod residents will listen to a series of public lectures on the history, causes and consequences of the 1917 revolutionary events of the year, will attend the presentations of scientific and popular publications devoted to Novgorod deputies of the State Duma of the pre-revolutionary convocations, will take part in the round table "Russian province and the Revolution", which Novgorod Museum reserve plans to hold in the autumn of 2017.

February 15, 2017 in the conference hall of the Museum of Fine Arts will be held the first public lecture cycle - a lecture by Boris Kovalev - head of the Novgorod group of St. Petersburg Institute of History of Sciences, professor of the Yaroslav the Wise Novgorod State University, a member of the Union of Journalists of Russia, doctor of historical sciences.
