Russian culture abroad: The exhibition "Revolution: Russian Art of 1917-1932" to the 100th anniversary of the Revolution of 1917 in London

The exhibition "The Revolution: Russian Art of 1917-1932" is opened at the Royal Academy of Arts in London on February 11, 2017.

This exhibition explores one of the most crucial periods in the modern history of the world through the prism of innovative art.

The exhibition, dedicated to the centenary of the events of October 1917, will demonstrate the whole range of creative research by Russian and Soviet artists of revolutionary and the first post-revolutionary years, from the birth of the avant-garde to socialist realism.

The exhibition presents the works of famous artists of the time, including Kandinsky, Malevich, Chagall and Rodchenko, from Russia's largest museums.

In addition to paintings and sculpture, the exhibition presents photographic and archival footage, propaganda posters, original Soviet porcelain. Also in the exhibition will be recreated interior of a communal apartment, which will allow viewers to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the time.

The exposition will be open till April 17, 2017.
