Society and reading: The registration of participants of the first national action “Give books with love”

14-18 February 2017 at the initiative of the Association of culture, art and education, familiarizing children to reading "Bringing up the reader" will be the first all-Russian campaign "Give books with love" timed to the International Book Giving Day (since 2012), which is annually celebrated on 14 February in more than 30 countries around the world.   

The idea of ​​the International Book Giving Day - is to inspire people around the world to give children and each other good books, showing that the book remains the best gift and does not lose its value even in an age of high information technologies.  

Within the campaign in libraries, bookstores, museums and other venues will be organized the collection of books for children's institutions, will be held contests, quizzes, workshops, meetings with famous people, children's writers and artists, reading concerts and other interesting events.

Libraries of the country are invited to participate in the action in the following formats:

- To organize the collection of books to the address of children's organizations in the region. It may be rural, school library, children's home, nursing home or other institution, which really need a books;

- To announce a contest in libraries, within which young readers recommend books to their friends;

- To organize a book exchange on the platform;

- To prepare by February 14, 2017 the program of events dedicated to the International Book Giving Day.
