History of Russia: Manuscripts of the XVI-XVII centuries are discovered in the Kirov region

In the archives of the temple of the village Nikulchino of the Kirov region were found handwritten letters of the end of XVI - early XVII centuries. These unique artifacts help to examine in detail the story of Boris and Gleb Church - the oldest Christian settlements in the Vyatka land. Original documents of the era, rather than transcribed copies, are found for the first time.

Expert screening committee under the Ministry of Culture of the Kirov region decided to include in the State regional register of unique documents of the Archival Fund in the territory of the Kirov region, the two documents from the State archive of the Kirov region.

The documents relate to the history of Boris and Gleb (from 1863 - Pokrovskaya) church in the village Nikulitsky Khlynovsky (Vyatka) County, the base of which is associated with the initial period of the history of the Vyatka region.

The first document - the real application (removable,) diploma of Jacob Koposov to clergy Boris and Gleb church in the village Nikulitsky Khlynovsky County, compiled 28 October 1598. This document has issued a parishioner of the church giving the clergy of the church belonged to him grassland for prayerful remembrance of the church members of his family and clan.

The second document - a genuine word of mouth the memory of Artemiy Klementev Sandalov on the disposal of its property in case of death or became a monk, compiled on August 14, 1627. The document was signed by the rector of the church Deomid Lozhkin, in which in 1620 the church was rebuilt with the consecration of the chapel dedicated to St. Cosma and Damian, with the blessing of Patriarch of Moscow Filaret.
