History of Saint-Petersburg: The exhibition “The city over the free Neva” in Astrakhan

February 2, 2017 in B. M. Kustodiev House-Museum is opened the exhibition "The city on the free Neva" (St. Petersburg-Petrograd-Leningrad in the national fine arts). Of the many artistic images of the city, which occupies a key position in the history of Russia, the organizers selected a few: the city-king (the capital), the city-garden, the city-hero.

The most important historical events, related to the life of the city, its sights are reflected in the original works of famous Russian and Soviet artists Boris Kustodiev, M. Dobuzhinsky, I. Goryushkin-Sorokopudov, K. Titov. The works are presented by the P. M. Dogadin  Astrakhan picture gallery dedicated to labor unrests of 1905, the October Revolution in Petrograd, difficult period of the blockade of Leningrad.

The greatness and power of the capital city, "Neva’s Sovereign flow", the diversity of St. Petersburg architecture inspired many local artists to create paintings, which can be considered a kind of declaration in love to Petersburg-Petrograd-Leningrad.

The exhibition includes 11 paintings and 10 graphic works.
