Information Technology and Libraries: Unique issues of the “Severomorsk Pilot” newspaper were digitized in Murmansk

The Murmansk regional scientific library digitized the military filings of the newspaper of the Air Force of the Northern Fleet North Sea Pilot for the years 1943-1945, the library press service reported.

About 300 issues have been digitized, it is about 1200 pages.

"The first issue of the daily “Severomorsk Pilot” was published on September 1, 1943. The newspaper was published on 4 pages of small format during the Great Patriotic War", the library says.

Unique military newspapers are kept in the public domain, they have replenished the collection of the public electronic library "Kola North" in the section "Newspapers of the War Years".

Digitization of publications was made possible thanks to the cooperation of the library with the Naval Museum of the Northern Fleet of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
