The Presidential Library: New acquisitions

The Presidential Library collection has been enriched with materials provided by the St. Petersburg State University, the State Archives of the Pskov Region, the Berezovsky Regional Non-profit Foundation in memory of the Most Serene Prince Alexander Danilovich Menshikov.

Catalog Description of the Pushkin Museum of the Imperial Alexander Lyceum compiled by the pupils of the 1st grade of 55th course of S. M. Asnash and A. N. Yakhontov contains autographs, facsimiles, old copies of Pushkin's letters and works, his drawings, documents and letters to him and about him, objects and things belonging to Pushkin, busts and models of the poet's monuments, objects dedicated to him, portraits of Pushkin and his relatives, friends, relatives, etc. In the catalog, the items are located in departments, within departments - by years of admission.

Archival documents on the life and work of the poet are also presented:

Report of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to the Pskov Governor A. N. Peshchurov on the publication of the complete collection of A. Pushkin's works with the application of the announcement of the works of A. S. Pushkin included in this publication;

From the list of persons who are under the supervision of the police in the Pskov province with information about A. S. Pushkin;

Order to the abbot of the Svyatogorsky Monastery Archimandrite Gennady to transport the body of Alexander Pushkin and his legendary land in the Svyatogorsky Monastery;

A letter from G. A. Pushkin, the son of A. S. Pushkin, to the Pskov nobleman deputy meeting with a declaration of gratitude for introducing the pedigree book of the province.

Materials of the sixth issue of the scientific almanac Menshikov readings 2015 (St. Petersburg, 2016) are devoted to the study of the following topics: the Great Northern War of 1700-1721, the creation and adornment of the new capital of St. Petersburg, the Russian navy, the industrial construction near Onega Lake, the Cossack uprising of K. A. Bulavin, the spread of Orthodoxy in Siberia, statesmen of the Great Epoch and relations in the government environment, the intervention of the autocracy in the family and marriage relations of servicemen, and others. The next issue of the almanac united researchers from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk and Rostov-on-Don.    

Materials of the seventh issue of the scientific almanac The Menshikov readings 2016 (St. Petersburg, 2016) are devoted to the study of the following topics: the military-judicial reform of Peter the Great, the military confrontation and cooperation of Russia and the Crimean Khanate in the 15th-16th centuries, the development of the domestic pension system for retired military and state ranks in the Russian Empire of the XVIII century, the first memorial ship of Moscow - the galley "Strug Moskvoretsky", the struggle of Russia for free navigation on the Baltic Sea in the XIII - first quarter of the XVIII centuries, an episode from the history of "marriage diplomacy" of Peter the Great of the Northern War, to the Petrine standards of the service of the nobles at the beginning of the reign of Elizabeth Petrovna, the Swedish Ladoga flotilla of 1701-1703, the interconnection of Russia with the countries of Central Asia, the ransom of Russian captives from captivity in the second half of the XVI century - 20sof the XVIII century, the production of "Dutch" tiles in Russia and the origin of tiles from the House of Peter I in Narva. The scientific almanac was compiled in one booklet by researchers not only from St. Petersburg, but also from Moscow, Voronezh, Nizhny Novgorod, Novy Urengoy and Novosibirsk.        

The educational-methodical film tells about a multimedia lesson in 1825. Reflections on the fate of Russia (9 min.). The lesson is dedicated to the dramatic events that took place on December 14, 1825, on the Senate Square of St. Petersburg. As part of the multimedia lesson, the schoolchildren got acquainted with the educational film (which was created by the famous Russian Decembrist scholar Y. A. Gordin), with the electronic collection of sources and historical literature "Decembrists in the history of Russia", and also had the opportunity to test their knowledge during the online-testing.
