
The Year of Ecology in Russia-2017: The exhibition project “Protected Russia” is presented in Veliky Novgorod
In 2017 at the State Museum of Artistic Culture of the Novgorod Land is opening the exhibition project "Protected Russia", dedicated to the Year of Ecology in Russia. During the year, the museum audience can get acquainted with the works of the leading artists of Novgorod.
The project was opened with the exhibition of one painting by Valery Pavlovich Shulga "Awakening of Rdeysky monastery" with a picture of Rdeysky Nature Reserve from the museum fund. Rdeysky State Nature Reserve was established on May 25, 1994. It is located in the territory of the Poddorsky and Kholmsk District of the Novgorod region. Its total area is 36,922 hectares (buffer zone 4844 ha).
Works by Valery Pavlovich cover two periods of the artist's life: Kazakh and Russian. Most of his life the artist lived in Kazakhstan in Karaganda. Author’s reliefs made of ceramic, plaster, wood, metal, and to this day adorn many institutions and enterprises in Kazakhstan. He was Chairman of the Board of Karaganda organization of the Union of Artists of Kazakhstan.
Works by V. P. Shulga are in museums and private collections in Kazakhstan, Russia, Germany, the USA, Finland, Norway and Canada.
The exhibition will run till April 9, 2017.
