
History of Russia: The exhibition "Crowned trustees of Siberia. Portraits of the Imperial Romanov family" in Tomsk
February 22, 2017 the exhibition "Crowned trustees of Siberia. Portraits of the Imperial Romanov family" took place in the Tomsk Regional Art Museum.
The exposition presents paintings, sculptures and graphic portraits from the collections of the highest personages of the city museums and private collections, some of them will be first shown to the public. Unique icon "Planting the Tree Siberian", created at the beginning of the XVIII century by the famous architect, the builder, the first cartographer of Siberia S. U. Remezov. Tomsk Archdiocese provided for museum halls iconographical monuments related to Regal House. This is the miracle of surviving a rare image of Our Lady of the Theodore, written to "three hundred anniversary of the Imperial House of Romanov" in 1913.
Visitors of the exhibition will get acquainted with the true masterpieces of the XIX century from the collections of the Art Museum and the Museum of books Scientific Library of the Tomsk State University, the Tomsk Regional Museum, the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography of Siberia, the Tomsk State University, as well as see the icons provided by the Tomsk Archdiocese.
