Book publishing and book distribution: Russia takes part in the Latvian Book Fair as the Guest of Honor

On the Latvian Book Fair, which runs from 24 to 26 February 2017 in Riga, Russia acts as the Guest of Honor. At the national stand it is exhibited about a thousand titles from leading publishers. More than 30 well-known Russian writers will meet with readers, will present their books and will become members of public readings and autograph sessions.

Guests of the national stand will be presented the album "Flying over Russia", in which basis - pictures of natural, historical and architectural sites of the Russian regions made with various aircraft. TASS will present a photo in English and Russian languages, which reflects the chronicle of the most important events in the history of Russia, including the brightest moments of the participation of Russian athletes at the Winter Olympics.

Book exhibition will bring together readers, authors, students, teachers from Latvia and Russia on the key event of the Russian program - Marathon of Russian reading - a kind of literary journey for listeners and participants.

Special exposition of the Moscow Government will present the 300 best books of the publishing capital "Veche", "The White City" and others.

At the end of the exhibition all books of the national stand will be donated to libraries and cultural centers of Latvia.
