
History of Russia: The exhibition "Military history of Russia in commemorative medals of XVIII - XX centuries" to the Day of Defender of the Fatherland in Yaroslavl
February 23, 2017 at the Museum of Military Glory, the Yaroslavl Museum-Reserve branch are taking place held events dedicated to the celebration of Defender of the Fatherland Day.
The Museum opens the exhibition "Military history of Russian commemorative medals in the XVIII - XX centuries". At all times the heroism, courage of Russian soldiers was part of the greatness of the Russian state. The tragic and heroic pages of Russian military history are reminiscent of numerous awards - medals, crosses, medals. They reflect the courage of our people, heroism, faith in victory. During the day it is planned the author excursions that in detail acquaint visitors with the exposition of the new exhibition.
The interest of the guests arises the electronic presentation "New Soviet country holiday - to the history of the celebration of February 23", which will introduce visitors of the museum with the history of the emergence of this holiday in the calendar of memorable dates. In 1922, February 23 was officially declared the Day of the Red Army, later the holiday was renamed the Day of the Soviet Army and Navy, and after the collapse of the Soviet Union title anniversary again changing - and now in Russia as well as Belarus and Kyrgyzstan, celebrating Defender of the Fatherland Day.
