The exhibition "Heroes Among Us", dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the title of Hero of the Russian Federation, is opening in the Museum of Heroes of the Soviet Union and Russia (Moscow).
On March 20, 1992, Russia adopted the law "On the Establishment of the Hero of the Russian Federation and the Establishment of the Sign of Special Distinction - the Medal "Golden Star".
Over the past twenty-five years, the high title of Hero of the Russian Federation has been awarded to more than a thousand people - servicemen, cosmonauts, testers and designers of new equipment, rescuers, scientists, athletes and many others.
The exhibition in the Museum of Heroes of the Soviet Union and Russia features items of uniforms and equipment, documents and photographs of Heroes of Russia A. V. Lebed, N. S. Maydanov, A. Y. Gushchin, M. N. Evtyukhin, Y. L. Vorobyov, E. S. Chernyaev and others. The visitor is given the opportunity to trace the life of the heroes, to see their combat and peaceful days, to understand what prompted them to commit a heroic deed.
