Information technology and society: The project "Memory as a gift", representing digitized shots from the newsreel "Siberia on the screen", will be presented in Novosibirsk

In Novosibirsk on March 21, 2017 will be presented the project "Memory as a gift", which will present digitized archival footage from the newsreel "Siberia on the screen". The project was created in response to requests from viewers to find themselves and their relatives on the film.

The project will be shown in Novosibirsk in the cinema "Pobeda". The archive was digitized and prepared for the show by Documentary House of the Museum of the City of Novosibirsk, “Novosibirskkinovideoprokat”, the Russian State Archive of Cinema and Photo Documents with the participation of the charity fund for support of public initiatives "Siberian".

"Siberia on the screen" is one of the oldest newsreels in the country. All newsreels are described in great detail, so anyone who wants to find, for example, a grandfather or grandmother, can do it.

The cinematographers digitized and prepared for the show the subjects of the newsreel "Siberia on the screen". They filmed people, thanks to whom Novosibirsk was developed. After the event, its participants will receive DVDs with a memorable archive chronicle.
