The Year of Ecology in Russia-2017: Photo exhibition of the Polistovsky Nature Reserve "The Seasons" in Pskov

In the Vlasyevskaya Tower of the Pskov Kremlin was opened an exhibition of the Polistovsky State Nature Reserve "The Seasons".

By decrees of the President of the Russian Federation 2017 in our country was declared the Year of Especially Protected Natural Territories and Ecology. Within their framework, a number of activities will be held aimed at preserving the environment, rational use of natural resources and raising the level of the ecological culture. One of them there is a photo exhibition organized by the Pskov Museum-Reserve and the Polistovsky Nature Reserve and acquainting visitors with the enchanting beauty of nature that has not been affected by human activities. Picturesque marshes and lakes, gentle colors of spring, a rich palette of summer, gold of autumn and severity of winter - all seasons of the year will be presented to the guests of the photo exhibition.    

The Polistovsky State Nature Reserve (the Pskov region) is an environmental, and research educational institution of federal significance. The purpose of creating the reserve was to preserve in natural state and study the natural complexes of the Polistovo-Lovatskaya bog system, within which it is located.

205 species of birds, 31 mammal species, 3 species of reptiles, 2 species of fish and 2 species of amphibians inhabit the Polistovsky Reserve. In the marshes there are 449 plant species, 56 moss species and 46 lichen species.

The exhibition will run till June 2017.
