Memorable dates of Russia: The exhibition "Builders of the New World. Comintern. 1918-1924" to the 100th anniversary of the Revolution of 1917 in Moscow
The State Museum and Exhibition Center "ROSIZO" together with the State Historical Museum and the Russian State Archive of Social and Political History with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation present the exhibition "Builders of a New World in the Central Manezh in Moscow. Comintern. 1918-1924", timed to the 100th anniversary of the Revolution of 1917 in Russia.
A large-scale historical and documentary project includes painting, sculpture, graphics, archival documents, rare photographs of the 1920s, newsreels, the best examples of campaign posters, decorative art items, as well as personal belongings of the congress participants from the museums of Moscow and St. Petersburg, archives, libraries, private collections. The central work of the exhibition is the grandiose canvas of Isaak Brodsky. "The II Congress of the Comintern (inauguration of the Second Congress of the Comintern in the Uritsky Palace, the former Tavrichesky)" with confidence and portrait accuracy tells of one of the most important events of post-revolutionary time, the Second Congress of the Comintern (Communist International), which approved the Charter of the Comintern, the goals and tasks of the world communist movement.
For the first time at the exhibition the canvas is presented together with numerous sketches and archival documents that clearly demonstrate the scale of the work done by the artist, its significance for contemporaries.
The project demonstrates an extensive collection of exhibits that represent this turbulent era. Among them, the first official portrait of the leader of the proletarian revolution - the picture of Isaak Brodsky "Lenin and the manifestation", unique examples of agitation porcelain, including the work of the famous artist Sergei Chekhonin - art director of the State Porcelain Factory, Natalia Danko's chess - a popular form of agitation porcelain plastics of the 1920s Years. The section of the exhibition "Faces of the New Era" includes graphic works by Yuri Annenkov - portraits of cultural figures of the time - Anna Akhmatova, Isadora Duncan, Vladislav Khodasevich, Kornei Chukovsky, Nikolai Evreinov and Vasily Kamensky.
The exposition "Builders of a new world. Comintern. 1918-1924" makes it possible to immerse in the context of the post-revolutionary era, to feel the dramatic atmosphere of one of the brightest periods of world history - the time of building a new world.
