Peoples of Russia: The exhibition "Women of the Caucasus in Photography, Painting, Sculpture, Graphic" in Astrakhan

On June 16, 2017, the Public Foundation for the Promotion of the Development of Culture "The World of the Caucasus" presented the art exhibition "Women of the Caucasus in Photography, Painting, Sculpture, Graphic" in the Museum-Exhibition Complex "Tseikhhaus" (Astrakhan). Previously, it was exhibited in Moscow and Rostov-on-Don.

Here you can see reproductions of more than five hundred rare photographs, engravings, drawings of the XIX - early XX centuries from the museums of Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, the museums of the Caucasus. Among the exhibits there are the works of famous masters of the past: Yermakov, Barkanov, Nikitin, Vestli, Raul, Yeremeev, Luarsabov, Prince Gagarin and others. The exhibition also features a modern photo, sculpture, painting.

The exposition gives an opportunity to create a vivid idea of the diversity of national features, costumes, everyday life of Caucasian women, it tells about the evolution of women's perception, its role and place in the world of traditional cultures of the peoples of the Caucasus for a century. Deep immersion in the atmosphere of the Caucasus is facilitated by the original artistic design of the exhibition and original ethnic music accompanying the exposition.
