In the city of Kampen (the Netherlands), the XXXVII International Hanseatic Days of the New Times are opened, where delegations from two Russian cities - Pskov and Veliky Novgorod – are participating. In total on Hanseatic days in the Netherlands delegations from more than 80 cities of Europe have arrived.

The motto of the XXXVII International Hanseatic Days is "Water Connects", so the opening ceremony of the holiday on June 15 was opened with a parade of ships on the IJssel River.

June 16, the Hanseatic market began its work in the historic center of Kampen.

The festive events will end on the evening of June 19 with a traditional procession of all participants of the XXXVII International Hanseatic Days.

The Hanseatic League of the New Time is an international non-governmental intermunicipal organization, which aims to develop trade and tourism. It includes not only those cities that were part of the medieval Hansa, but also those that managed to prove the existence of trade links with the Hanseatic League during the Middle Ages. The Hanseatic League now unites 187 cities from 16 countries, including 14 Russian cities. International Hanseatic days in Russia were held only once - in 2009 they were taken by Veliky Novgorod. The second time the festival will be held in Russia in 2019 in Pskov.
