Regions of Russia: Day of small cities of the country is held in the House of the Russian Historical Society in Moscow

June 20, 2017 the Day of Small Cities of Russia is held in the House of the Russian Historical Society (Moscow). This large-scale event is dedicated to the Russian province with its rich historical diversity and authentic traditions. In the program - the opening of two new exhibitions, a round table, the presentation of the first book from the series of the publishing project "My Country Russia".

The event will be started with the opening of the exhibition dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Leningrad region. This is a unique project that covers the history of the region's development before and after the revolution, during the siege of Leningrad and in the post-war period. Among the exhibits there are unique photographs and archival documents, telegrams, orders and resolutions.

Then the round table "Small cities of Russia: heritage, economy, culture" will take place, participants of which will discuss the historical and architectural diversity of different corners of the Russian province.

In addition, in the courtyard of the mansion of the Russian Historical Society, the opening of the photo exhibition "Small Russian Cities: Pearl Placer" will take place. It features dozens of works by the best photographers of the country, capturing unique moments of life in the Russian remote area, its inhabitants, their way of life, nature and architecture.
