The Presidential Library: New acquisitions

The Presidential Library collection has been enriched with materials provided by the National Library of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

New acquisitions include materials on the research of Yakutia in the late XIX century. - early XX century.  

The preliminary report on research in the fields of the Kolyma, Indigirka and Yana… (St. Petersburg, 1893) by I. D. Chersky, presented at a meeting of the physics and mathematics department on December 16, 1892, gives a description of the geognostic structure of the terrain along the route line: a flat elevation , the Verkhoyansk Range, the Tas-kystabyt Range, the Ulakhan-Chistai Ridge, the Tomus-haya Ridge.

The work of the famous Russian explorer of the Arctic G.Y. Sedov Travel to Kolyma and the New Land in 1909-10 (Petrograd, 1917) tells of an expedition along the mouth of the river Kolyma for the elucidation of the possibility of entry into this mouth of sea vessels, the Cross Lips (near the western shores of Novaya Zemlya), as well as life, beliefs, rites of local peoples.

The publication of B. E. Petri Research program of parking in the open air (Irkutsk, 1923) briefly describes the technology of excavation, features of the description of found objects, as well as their dismantling and registration. 

The handbook for the Soviet worker of the YASSR (Yakutsk, 1922) timed to the day of the First All-Yakut Congress of Soviets, the device of the administrative and economic apparatus of the Republic in the 1920s is described.

Collection of guidance materials for cooperatives (Yakutsk, 1924) included the decisions of the 6th anniversary meeting of the authorized Yaksoyuz "Holbos", decrees, resolutions, orders for cooperation of the central bodies of the USSR, charters of cooperative associations, instructions, regulations.

The material of the short statistical essay with the diagram of Cattle breeding and agriculture in Yakutia in 1917, 1921, 1922 (Yakutsk, 1923) contains data for studying the evolution of economic groups and economic regions for the period presented.

The Evenki-Russian (Tungus-Russian) dictionary (M., 1940) is the first experience of compiling a practical dictionary of the Evenk language written with the involvement of some dialectisms. When compiling the dictionary, all literature published in the Evenki language was used up to 1938, and materials collected by the author were used, as well as a number of words from the lexicon of travelers printed before the beginning of writing in this language (before 1917). The dictionary contains about 10 thousand words.

The Russian-Yakut terminology and spelling dictionary (M., 1935) contains 13 018 words. For the first time here are presented the words on the anatomy and physiology of the animal and plant world.

The edition of the Yakutsk Regional Museum for 25 years of its existence: (May 26, 1891 - May 26, 1916) (Yakutsk, 1917) briefly presented the history of the emergence and development of the museum, its educational and cultural activities.

The Charter of the Yakut Sobriety Society under the Brotherhood of Christ the Savior (Yakutsk, 1914).

The preparation of new materials will be continued.
