Information technology and museums: The first cinema in Russia in the museum, showing films on any media, was opened in the State Tretyakov Gallery

The State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow) opened its cinema. It has become the first cinema in our country, which operates under the museum.

According to the head of the federal department of culture Vladimir Medinsky, who took part in the solemn ceremony, the public will have a rare opportunity to see the tapes, which are practically not shown in a wide box office.

The opening film was the picture "Sergei Shchukin. History of the Collector". It was taken a year ago, timed to a large opening day of the works from the collection of the collector. The exhibition was opened in the French capital last autumn.

For the first time in one cinema hall there will be shown tapes from all carriers. It can be both a narrow film, and wide, and, of course, it can be used all digital media.

In total, the cinema includes four halls. Two are located in the building in Lavrushinsky Lane, and one - in the New Tretyakov Gallery. In addition, the summer cinema on Krymsky Val was opened as well.
