Museums of Russia abroad: The State Historical Museum will feature exhibitions in three cities of the People's Republic of China

The expositions from the collection of the State Historical Museum in 2017 will be presented to three cities of the People's Republic of China: Beijing, Nanjing and Guangzhou.

Currently the Nanjing Museum hosts the exhibition "Treasures of the Russian Empire from the collection of the State Historical Museum". The exhibition project introduces the Chinese public to one of the richest museum collections in the Russian Federation. The exposition presents 302 items, which are vivid testimonies of imperial history.

The main part of the exhibition contains monuments of decorative and applied art, which demonstrate the artistic styles that prevailed for 200 years in Russia. The exhibits related to the history of relations between Russia and China are of particular significance.

The collection of the Historical Museum will be presented in Nanjing until September 10, after which it will move to Guangzhou, where residents and visitors of the city can get acquainted with the treasures of the Russian Empire from September 29, 2017 to January 8, 2018 in the Guangdong Provincial Museum.

In November, the National Museum of the People's Republic of China in Beijing will host an exhibition from the collections of the museum "To the 100th anniversary of the Great Russian Revolution. The exhibition of monuments of the State Historical Museum of the October Revolution". It will run till February 7, 2018.
