History of Russia: The exhibition on the activities of the Ural revolutionary underground is opened in Yekaterinburg
The exhibition about the activities of the Ural revolutionary underground "We are from the North Star" is opened on July 10, 2017 in the Museum of History of Yekaterinburg.
The exhibition is timed to coincide with the anniversary of the February and October revolutions.
"I came to you from the "Polar Star" - the password that opened the doors of the underground appearance of Yekaterinburg Social Democrats in 1905.
On the other hand, the name of the exhibition is a metaphor that tells us that the underground revolutionaries are not from this world, "not from this planet", people who have nothing in common with the ordinary world of the common man.
Under the banner of the Bolsheviks, by October 1917, there were several hundred professional revolutionaries who, over the past decades, had undergone a severe school of underground life. Type of professional revolutionary of the late XIX - early XX century - this is the main subject of research of the authors of the exhibition project "We are from the polar star".
The life of a true revolutionary, suggesting a version of the looping of the plot - when, after his escape, he again starts clandestine work on the new addresses of the organization, the authors of the exhibition will show with the help of unique photographs of underground participants, maps of Yekaterinburg, indicating safe houses and underground printing houses, personal belongings of revolutionaries and thematic installations.
