Society and Culture: The Contest of printed and multimedia projects on the history and culture of the Novgorod land

The Novgorod Regional Universal Scientific Library together with the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Novgorod Region announce a competition of printed and multimedia projects on the history and culture of the Novgorod land. The competition is held with the aim of popularizing the historical and cultural heritage, positioning the Novgorod land as a world cultural, historical and tourist center. The author's literary and multimedia projects will be considered at the contest: popular science, historical and journalistic, historical and cultural studies, reference and encyclopaedic, educational publications, works for children and young people on the following topics:

- History of the Novgorod region, significant events in the history of Veliky Novgorod and the region, memorable dates of the history of the Novgorod land;

- Memorable places and sights of the Novgorod region, objects of cultural and natural heritage, archaeological and architectural monuments, places connected with the lives of outstanding people;

- Historical figures (statesmen, commanders, religious figures, writers, poets, musicians, scientists, etc.) associated with the Novgorod land, outstanding people of the Novgorod region, including contemporaries;

- Traditional folk culture of Novgorod region, Novgorod traditions of folk spiritual and material culture, arts and crafts, folk crafts and handicrafts of the Novgorod land.
