History of Moscow: The exhibition "Moscow in the photographs of A. A. Gubarev. 1912-1914"

5 October 2017

The Moscow Museum, the State Historical Museum and the Foundation for the Development of Culture and Education "Moscow Time" present the exhibition "Moscow in Photographs of A. A. Gubarev. 1912-1914".

From October 5 to December 15 in the Museum of Moscow will be open an exhibition, which will first show the work of Alexander Gubarev - a photographer who filmed Moscow in the early XX century.

The exposition presents 130 photographs of the pre-revolutionary capital from the collection of the Historical Museum. At the exhibition the pictures are supplemented with photographs of modern Moscow, taken, if possible, from the same points. Comparing historical views with modern cadres, one can see how the city and its inhabitants have been changed, and not only to examine the famous Moscow churches and mansions that were lost during the years of Soviet power, but also to trace significant urban development changes.
