History and Culture: The exhibition "From Alexander I to Alexander III - the era of Leo Tolstoy"

October 18, 2017 in Tolstoy Center on Pyatnitskaya Street, 12 in Moscow an exhibition from the collections of the State Museum of Leo Tolstoy (Moscow) and the A. V. Suvorov State Memorial Museum (Saint-Petersburg) "From Alexander I to Alexander III - the era Lev Tolstoy" is opened.

The exposition is dedicated to contemporaries of Leo Tolstoy, who lived in the XIX century, during the reign of Alexander I, Nicholas I, Alexander II and Alexander III. Portraits are provided by the A. V. Suvorov State Memorial Museum, and manuscripts and photographs - by the State Museum of Leo Tolstoy. Key one in the context of the exhibition is the era of Alexander II, which brought the flowering of creativity of Leo Tolstoy (in the 60s of the XIX century the novel "War and Peace" was created, in the 70s - the novel "Anna Karenina").
