Solidarity Against Terrorism Day

September 3 annually marks Solidarity Against Terrorism Day in Russia. This memorable date of Russia has been established on July 21, 2005 by the Federal Law On Amendments to the Federal Law On Days of Military Glory and Commemorative Dates in Russia. This day is associated with the tragic events that took place in Beslan (North Osetia) on September 1-3, 2004, when a group of armed terrorists occupied one of the town schools. The attack resulted in the deaths of 333 people, 186 of them children aged from 1 to 17.

Today, the state takes various measures aimed at the fight against terrorism: these are measures to prevent, combat and eliminate the consequences of terrorist attacks.
