Ivan Slovtsov, future researcher of Siberia, scientist, teacher, state councilor was born in Tyumen on November 11 (23), 1844 into the family of Yakov Slovtsov, archpriest of the Annunciation Cathedral.

On November 10 (23), 1917 the Central Committee of the Soviet workers’ and soldiers’ deputies approved the decree “On the abolishment of estates and civil ranks”.
