Vasily Adamovich Zelenko (1878, Illuki district of Kurland provinces - 1957, Krotovka, Samara region). He graduated from the University of Zurich, a teacher at the Frebelev courses in St. Petersburg (a paid pedagogical educational institution for the preparation of preschool-age teachers in families and kindergartens). Librarian of the E.L. Nobel Children's Library (1911). Participant of the First All-Russian Library Congress. Director of the Petrograd Institute of Out-of-School Education (1918-1924), Head. the library and library group of the institute (1918-1919). Scientific Secretary of the Council for the Study of the Productive Forces of the USSR, member of the board of the State Institute of Scientific Pedagogy, teacher of the Leningrad State Historical and Linguistic Institute. Author of several works on the management of children's reading and out-of-school education. In 1937, he was expelled from Leningrad by order of the UNKVD Commission to the Tarsky District of the Omsk Region. Worker district health department. Released in 1956. He died in 1957. He was buried in a. Krotovka Samara region .
