Ekaterina Arkadyevna Gorsh (1896-1987) - Soviet library scientist, candidate of pedagogical sciences (1954), assistant professor, honored cultural worker of the RSFSR. E. A. Gorsh worked at the Institute. NK Krupskaya for more than 40 years - was the dean of the library faculty (1934-1936), head of the department of library science (1936-1941 and 1948-1956); Dean of the Library Faculty at the Pedagogical Institute. A.I. Herzen (1944); acting director of the Library Institute (until 1945), deputy director for studies (since 1945). In 1968, E. A. Gorsh was awarded the title of Honored Worker of Culture for his great achievements in the development of Soviet library science and the training of library personnel.
