The national Vepsian festival "Tree of Life" has been annually held in the village of Vinnitsa in the Podporozhsky district of the Leningrad region since 1989. Representatives of the indigenous peoples of the north of the Leningrad Oblast — Vepps, Finns, Karelians, Izhora, residents of the surrounding areas of other nationalities — are gathering for the holiday.
