The Russian Archives is a historical and literary collection, published in Moscow from 1863 to 1917 yy., at the Chertkovsky library. Founded by Peter Ivanovich Bartenev - historian and literary critic, director of the Chertkovsky library. The collection was published by numbers (notebooks), 12 issues per year. The numbers were combined into books, the number of numbers in the book in different years was different: 2, 3, 4. The annual issue books were sometimes reprinted. Archival documents and materials reflecting the history of Russia of the 18th-19th centuries, literary works, memoirs were published on the pages of the Russian Archive.
