World Book Day in Volgograd

April 25, in the Interactive Museum "Russia is My History", the museum staff together with the representatives of the regional center of the Presidential Library, acting on the basis of the M. Gorky Volgograd Regional Universal Scientific Library, held an event dedicated to the World Book Day.

The guests of the event were pupils of Lyceum №5. An excursion was conducted for pupils under the title "History of Book Printing".

At the end of the event, as part of the presentation of electronic resources for the education and self-education of schoolchildren, the electronic collections of the Presidential Library dedicated to the history of Russian statehood and the development of book business were presented to the audience, as well as an exhibition of electronic collections from the funds of the M. Gorky Volgograd OUNB.

On the website of the Presidential Library the Volgograd Region is represented by the collection: "Volgograd region: Pages of History". Studies, essays, memoirs, archival documents, official statistical collections and surveys, as well as magazines of district zemstvo collections dedicated to history, archeology, economics, demography and military-administrative development of the territories of the XIII-XX centuries, which are now part of the Volgograd region (the former Tsaritsyn and Kamyshin districts of the Saratov province) are presented.
