
The Russian-Austrian trade economic relations were discussed at the Presidential library
Today, on May 24, 2018, the 16th session of the Mixed Russian-Austrian Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation was held in the Presidential Library, co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak and Austrian Minister of Digitalization and Economics Margaret Schramböck.
The event was organized following the results of agreements reached at the meeting of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin with the Federal Chancellor of the Republic of Austria Sebastian Kurtz. The mixed Russian-Austrian commission gathered for the first time after the announcement on December 20, 2017 of the composition of the new Austrian Government and the appointment of Margaret Schramböck as minister of digitalization and economy.
According to Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Kozak, the accumulated investments of the Russian Federation in the Austrian economy on October 1, 2017 amounted to 23 billion euros. At the same time, since the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions, no Austrian company has left the Russian market. "There are about 500 Austrian companies in Russia. The total amount of accumulated Austrian investments in the Russian economy as of October 1, 2017 amounted to $ 4.7 billion", - said Dmitry Kozak.
The state of Russian-Austrian trade economic relations, including the development of cooperation in the energy and transport sector, the preparation of the Cross Year of Russia-Austria Tourism and the Cross Year of Music and Cultural Routes, the issues of interregional cooperation, and the actualization of the list of promising bilateral projects, implemented in the framework of the Modernization Program were discussed at the meeting. In the course of the work of the Mixed Russian-Austrian Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, the issue of preparing bilateral treaty documents (memorandums of understanding) in the areas of digitalization, innovation, development of investment and tourism cooperation in the Far East was also touched upon.
Within the framework of the 16th session of the Mixed Russian-Austrian Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation, a ceremony of signing a number of bilateral documents took place.
