A meeting with the two-time European champion in football freestyle took place in the Presidential Library

Within the framework of the video lecture "Knowledge of Russia" a meeting with Arseniy Klementyev, two-time European champion in football freestyle, a prize-winner of world championships, was held in the Presidential Library timed to the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Arseniy is the owner of world records in some disciplines of this sport, as well as the founder of the School of football freestyle. During the event, the sportsman told what football freestyle is and what its difference from football is, about the types, directions and prospects of its development, and also demonstrated the filigree technique of possession of the ball.

Football freestyle is the performance of various tricks and combinations with the ball. As well as in athletics, there are many directions in it: there is a show, there is a freestyle on the head, sitting, with legs, paired performances - only about 100 variations and combinations of this spectacular sport.

According to Arseniy Klementyev, the most difficult trick - three turns, without touching the ball, in order to fulfill it, he has been training for more than five years. Well, the favorite trick is the one that will bring victory.

"Football freestyle is a young kind of sport, the age of most freestylers is 16-22. I dream of recognizing football freestyle as a separate sport, of creating the Federation, because in Russia it is becoming more popular", - Arseniy Klementyev said.

Students of the college of physical culture and sports, economics and technology of the St. Petersburg State University and the P. F. Lesgaft National State University of Physical Culture, Sport and Health came to the Presidential Library to meet with the athlete.

The Presidential Library is actively preparing for the main sporting event of the year. The exhibition "More than the game: to the World Cup in Russia" broadly highlights the main stages of the history of Russian football, tells about people who contributed to the development of this sport in our country; a multimedia exhibition has been prepared, which presents materials from the first rules of the game of 1903 to modern documents revealing the progress of the construction of the stadium "St. Petersburg", and many others; an electronic exhibition of drawings of participants of the city competition among students of St. Petersburg "Movement - a Pantry of Health"; a round table dedicated to the history of sport was held, participation in which were adopted by the cities, where the World Championship will be held. The collection "Sport in Russia", placed on the portal, is also being enriched.
