Visiting conference of heads of remote access centers to the Presidential Library resources in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra

From May 21 to 25 the annual conference of heads of remote access centers to the Presidential Library information resources was held in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Area - Yugra. The meetings were held in the cities of Khanty-Mansiysk, Pyt-Yakh, Nefteyugansk.

The conformism of such meetings is conditioned by the fact that they contribute to the development and strengthening of professional ties, the disclosure and implementation of innovative experience and the improvement of information activities in the field of culture, science and education. 

Deputy Governor of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Area-Yugra Vsevolod Koltsov and Alexey Zabozlaev, Director of the Department of Culture of the Autonomous Area Nadezhda Kaznacheeva, Director of the Department of Information Technologies of Yugra Pavel Tsiporin, Director of the State Library of Yugra Olga Pavlova, representatives of the Presidential Library and heads of remote centers took part in the meeting of access to the resources of the Presidential Library from 17 constituent entities of the Russian Federation, the VCS mode linked participants from more than 20 regions. The Autonomous Area was represented by the municipal entity of Yugra and the delegates of the educational sphere and archives. 

Opening the meeting and welcoming the participants V. V. Sidorin, Deputy Director General of the Presidential Library, noted that the library pays much attention to the development of the interregional network. According to him, thanks to the latest technologies and cooperation of specialists, digital inequality is reducing. The Presidential Library is becoming more accessible to residents of not only cities but also small and most remote villages and towns. There were also presented reports on the development of the regional network of the Presidential Library, the opportunities of the new information system were presented, methodical issues of the educational activities of the interregional and interdepartmental network of the institution using information technologies were highlighted. Participants heard about informational and methodical webinars and the educational project "Video lecture "Knowledge of Russia", organized by the specialists of the Presidential Library. It was also discussed "Remote Access Centers of the Presidential Library and Public Centers for Access to Legal Information".

Representatives of the libraries of the Urals Federal District in their reports paid much attention to the experience of creating and operating remote access centers of the Presidential Library, the practice of their interdepartmental and network interaction, and highlighted some aspects and features of planning their activities. The participants of the meeting were told about the project of the Chelyabinsk Regional Library "The Presidential Library in the Southern Urals", about educational projects, about cooperation with higher educational institutions of different profiles.

Issues were raised about working in social networks and other new channels for promoting the Presidential Library, the opportunities and services of regional centers, the use of intellectual games and other modern types of information and leisure that are relevant for young people.

Participants of the meeting discussed the current tasks of developing the regional network, creating and using the Presidential Library resources in learning and cultural-educational activities, interagency cooperation, digitizing archives, museums, universities, exchanging experience, identifying strategic directions and long-term plans.

The experience of working in the regions promoting the Presidential Library was widely covered, within two days representatives of 75 cultural and educational institutions shared their experiences and plans with the participants of the meeting and set tasks.

In addition to the official part of the meeting, representatives of the regions visited the tour through the State Library of Yugra, the Central City Library of Nefteyugansk and participated in the inauguration of the Center for Remote Access to the Resources of the Presidential Library in the Pyt-Yakh library.

The format of such meetings, which allow one to personally exchange opinions and share their visions of projects and prospects, has been showing its high efficiency for a year now. The result of the meeting was not only high appreciation of library and cultural projects in Yugra and in general in the Ural Federal District, but also agreements on cooperation and support for the implementation of similar and new initiatives in their regions.
