A concert of folk music groups of China, Russia and the Czech Republic was held at the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Prague

Сoncert of folk music groups and performers from China, Russia and the Czech Republic was held at the Great hall of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Prague.

The event was arranged and organized by the Czech-Chinese Association of Cultural Exchanges and the Association of Folklore of the Czech Republic with the support of the Rossotrudnichestvo in the Czech Republic.

Artists and guests were welcomed by the acting head of the Rossotrudnichestvo in the Czech Republic, Andrei Konchakov, who noted that the artists from China for the first time perform at the RCSC in Prague. He also stressed that the joint performance of folk music groups of the three countries is a good example of multilateral cooperation of China, Russia and the Czech Republic in the field of culture.

The program notes was opened by the pupils of the Children's Choir Studio "CANTABILE" from St. Petersburg. The repertoire of the studio is based on works by Russian, European composers, musical adaptation of folk songs and compositions by contemporary authors. On the stage of the RCSC the choir performed Russian folk songs "It Was Raining", "The Village Ride", "Grandfather Yegor Riding" and "Dawn Lazily Burns" on the poems of Russian poet Semen Nadson.

Then the Czech consummate musician Miroslav Stanchik, who performed several national and contemporary melodies on the clarinet, saxophone and unique accordion "Helikon" performed.

The program of performances was continued by the famous Chinese collective "Xian Yongning Jin Tang" (Xi'an Province). The troupe "Xian Yongning Jin Tang" in the 90s of the XX century received the right to reproduce and present the "Ancient ceremony of greeting in the city of Xian". This work was highly appreciated by the National Directorate of Tourism and Culture of China and is now well known in the country and abroad. Over the past 10 years, the ceremony was demonstrated to leaders and representatives of the government of the highest level in more than 30 countries. In 2017, the troupe entered the list "The most important music formations of the Ministry of Culture of the PRC".

The concert of folk music groups in the RCSC in Prague ended with a storm of applause. It was attended by more than 300 spectators, among whom were employees of the embassies of Russia and the PRC, compatriots, citizens of the Czech Republic and China.

The portal of the Presidential Library features electronic collection "Russia-Czech Republic: from the history of relationships". In the course of European history, the paths of the two countries were repeatedly crossed. The proposed selection includes studies, essays, official documents and photographs highlighting certain aspects of life in the Czech Republic and its relationship with Russia during the XIII-XXI centuries.

The readers can get familiar with the collection "Russia-China: from the history of relationships". It contains digital copies of documents of various types (book editions, archive, graphic, cartographic materials), reflecting the history of Russia's relations with its most important partner in the Far East - China. The collected documents allow looking at these relations through the lens of diplomatic contacts, economic, scientific and cultural cooperation for several centuries.
