The Presidential Library resources to help TASS journalists
A remote electronic reading room of the Presidential Library has been opened in the central office of the Russian TASS News Agency in Moscow.
This is not the first experience with TASS. The agreement on information cooperation between the Presidential Library and the Information Telegraph Agency of Russia (ITAR-TASS) was signed in April 2014. In the same year, the Presidential Library digitized TASS's photo archives, and the agency began to provide the library with information materials. TASS employees have repeatedly participated in academic and practical conferences held by the Presidential Library, media tours, as well as at the awards ceremony of the winners of the annual multimedia photo contest "Foreign view".
In 2015, the St. Petersburg branch of Informagency opened a center for remote access to the resources of the Presidential Library.
Here is another remote electronic reading room based on the TASS News Agency in Moscow. According to its employees, remote e-reading room is located in the Agency's Information Service, it is there that correspondents apply for obtaining the necessary information. Now it will be easier for them to work, because they will have the whole fund of the Presidential Library, which today numbers about 630 thousand units of storage.
Since the beginning of this summer, the remote reading room in the Moscow office of the TASS has already become the thirty-fourth in a row. To date, more than 600 centers for remote access to the Presidential Library resources have been opened in all 85 regions of the country.
Abroad, the Presidential Library is represented in 29 countries, including Germany, the USA, Italy, Spain, Austria, Great Britain and others. There, 38 electronic reading rooms of the Presidential Library are successfully running on the basis of Russian centers of science and culture and national libraries.
